Plot

Paniyamma - A movie based on M.K Indira's novel depicts the life of a child widow Pani. As per orthodox Brahmin custom, Phaniyamma was married off at the age of nine to 15 years old Nanjunda. Within two months, the boy dies and the young Pani is widowed at a tender age. The movie beautifully portrays her emotions and horror suffered by her in the name of orthodoxy.
