Plot

Kushal (Rakshit Shetty) is sent by his radio jockey sister Rachana to Kodagu to meet her boyfriend's sister in the hope that the two will take a liking to each other, leading to marriage, and thus paving the way for her own marriage. Kushal meets a bubbly girl Kushi (Shwetha Srivatsav) in the house he is sent to, but the rest of the family is out of town. The two share their past romantic liaisons before falling in love with each other. It turns out, though, that the girl is not who she pretends to be. The film takes a curious turn from here.

Synopsis
The film starts with Rachana (R.J. Rachana), a radio jockey, who phones her brother (Off Air), Kushal (Rakshit Shetty), whose friends call him Kush, who is a professional photographer, who makes Ad films. It turns out he is quite near the home of Amar, her boyfriend. She tells him to go to visit Amar, and to meet his sister, Dr. Ithihasini. She tells Kush that he should perhaps fall in love with Amar’s sister, and marry her, then she and Amar could get married at the same time. On the way to Amar’s house he sees a beautiful girl on the road, also with a camera. He falls in love with her, but she disappears. He tells Rachana jokingly that he wants to marry the girl he had just seen, but if he also likes Amar’s sister, he will marry both of them! He then goes on to the house, where he is greeted by the girl he saw on the road, who introduces herself as Dr Ithihasini (Swetha Srivatsav). She knows why he is here, and although the rest of the family are away, they should get to know each other. She asks him if he has had any previous girlfriends, and he tells her the story of a broken relationship – and she tells him the story of her broken relationship. They fall in love. During all this, his sister phones him from time to time, and tells her radio listeners about the developing love story, without saying who the couple are. The story is very full, and when evening comes, it is difficult to believe that all this has happened in one day. But then it turns out that the girl is not who has pretended to be – her first name is Kushi…

Review
The most incredible thing about this film, which created box office records, is that the entire cast and crew are newcomers, with the exception of Srinagar Kitty who has done a cameo appearance. The story is excellent, the acting is excellent, the direction is excellent, the cinematography is excellent, the songs are excellent. There’s nothing I could fault in the film. The story is unusual, and I have deliberately not given too many details in the synopsis - let it be a surprise when you watch the film, as you surely must!

There’s something unusual in the telling of their previous “love failure” romances. It’s the two actors, Rakshit Shetty and Swetha Srivatsav who play the parts. It would have been relatively easy to have two different actors play the roles of the previous lovers, but because this has not been done, the film focuses all the attention on Kush and Kushi, without the distraction of other characters – well done, Suni (Director) – and also well done Rakshit Shetty and Swetha Srivatsav, for it has given them the chance to play two different characters in the film, quite different from Kush and Kushi. I have not seen any comment on this in any of the reviews on Internet.

The songs are imaginative. “Smile Iruvante” is during Kushi’s previous romance scene, filmed on the beach. “Baanali Badalago” is a love song with Kush and Kushi, in a rural setting, with all sorts of objects floating up in the air, starting off with the food on a street vendor’s cart floating up in the air. “Karagida baanalli” is another love-song in a variety of rural and river settings. “Nanna Preethi Kusuri” is a song with reminiscences.
