Synopsis
Akash (Yogesh) was born to poor woman, Janakamma, in a slum, who could not afford to educate him. A rich couple came to buy him, to adopt him. However, she refused to take the money they offered, and told them instead to spend it on his education. However, they spend all their time away on business, and have virtually no time for him. They give him plenty of money, but they spend no time with him. He is brought up by the servants.
The film starts with a love scene, he is sitting with Aishwarya (Udhayathara), on a bench in the mountains. They are deeply in love. He asks her to marry him. Next day they meet again – she tells him that her parents have agreed that they can get married. Wes then see their first Love Song, “Kuchu Kuchu . . .”, danced in the streets of the well known Swiss location, Bern. He sings, “What’s that magic in her that drives me crazy?”
One day, when driving hurriedly to college he is stopped and asked to take a man who has been injured in an accident to hospital. This man (Ramesh Bhat) turns out to be Aishwarya’s father, and he needs a blood transfusion to save his life. Akash is the donor, as there is no blood of the right group in the blood bank.
He eventually arrives in college, where he is met by the crazy College Handyman and Electrician, the crazy College Cleaning Man, and the crazy College Principal (all three parts played by Rangayana Raghu). He is told that all the students have gone to a function at Aishwarya’s house. He goes there, only to find out she is getting engaged to someone else, and he overhears her saying she does not believe in love. He is distraught.

His parents arrive for his birthday but all their time is taken up with business. His mother says that her brother’s daughter, Bipasha is coming to visit, and she is very fond of him.

At this point in the film, we see what seems a flashback, of when Aishwarya arrived as a new girl in the college. He obviously falls in love with her. He goes home only to find Bipasha (Pragna) waiting for him, lying on his bed, hiding under a quilt. Then follows “Sarasa Maadulu”, a song set on a beach, in which Bipasha declares her love to Akash. We then are not quite sure when the flashback started, but conclude that it started with his parents brief visit, and before Aishwarya arrived at College. But then Bipasha continues to declare her love in a scene that continues from the song, in the middle of which we see Aishwarya and Akash at College. We become confused about the time scale.
There is tobe a College Cultural Event. Aishwarya does a classical dance performance, followed by Akash singing “Preethse Preethse” – “Love me, love me . . .”, which starts in the auditorium and then becomes a love song set on the snowy slopes of Swiss mountains, with at times multiple images of Akash and Aishwarya. His parents have been brought to hear him sing by Bipasha. His romance continues with Aishwarya, meeting her in a restaurant, and taking her to the cinema. He tells Bipasha that he is in love with Aishwarya. Then comes his reaction to being at her house, when she was about to get engaged. Akash has to be hospitalised after a suicide attempt. In the last hour of the film, his father decides to try to find out what really happened and to sort out the problems. Will Akash succeed in his love for Aishwarya, or will Bipasha be the one he marries? There are a few surprises in store.

Brief Review
There are a lot of things, lots of little details which may not have made sense at the first time of viewing this film, but they are all explained by the end of the film, every little detail. It is a very ingenious film, and one to watch and re-watch. All the songs, including the three remaining songs, about which I have said nothing, as it would give the movie away are excellent, lyrics, music and picturisation.
