Witness one of the greatest Tamil films to have been made to date. A Tamil drama film, Padayappa is directed by K. S. Ravikumar and stars cultural icon and superstar Rajinikanth; National Film Award-winner Sivaji Ganesan; 2-time Filmfare Award-winner Ramya Krishnan, and Soundarya. The film’s music was scored by 2-time Grammy Award-winner A. R. Rahman who is world-renowned for his musical brilliance. The plot of this movie follows a heroic man named Padayappa who, when visiting his native village to attend his sister’s wedding, witnesses the death of his father due to cardiac arrest which was incited by Padayappa’s uncle over a dire property squabble. Padayappa and his family are banished from their own home by his uncle who received all of the former’s property from Padayappa’s father. Fortune, however, smiles upon Padayappa’s face again and he makes loads of money and a name for himself through the granite trade. The plot eventually leads into a vicious love triangle, twisted relationships and ample fight scenes.
