Synopsis

This film is about a group who book a tour to see the Seven Wonders of the World. The title means ?Hey, Beautiful, I want to keep looking at you.?
The first couple are elderly, Gopal Gowda and his wife Shantamma: their children don?t respect them. The next couple are Nikhil, who is a business-man, and Nishita, who is a software professional: they were forced to marry by their parents, but they don?t share any interests, and they don?t get on with each other. The next couple are Sumati, whose husband died when she was quite young, making her lose her smile, her happiness and her courage, leaving her feeling insecure ? and her mischievous son, Nikku, around whom her life revolves. Then there?s our heroine?s family. She is Prakruti (Sonal Chauhan), whose moods vary like the weather: her father gets a phone-call from his friend, Patil, who wants his son to get married to her. But she does not want to get married. She goes to the temple, and writes on the blackboard, ?Will I ever marry?? Vishwa (Shivaraj Kumar), who is the tour-guide, sees this, and writes, ?Yes?, to the annoyance of Prakruti who sees him. Vishwa says that everyone should be thankful for all that they have in life. Sahana (Haripriya), Prakruti?s sister, calls him ?The Thankful Man?. He sees Prakruti (Sonal Chauhan), and falls in love with her at first sight, when she arrives for the briefing of all those travelling. Manu accompanies Vishwa, to help him: he is in love with Mona, who also works for the travel firm, but she does not love him.
The first of the Seven Wonders is the Taj Mahal. There Sumati is attacked by rowdies, but Vishwa comes to the rescue, fighting them off. He tells them, ?I am an orphan. I try hard to be the source of happiness to my group, because I take them to be my family. If we are together, we are like one family. Otherwise we are strangers. I?ll just be a guide, that?s all.? Vishwa is a very cheerful guide, and whenever someone in the group is in need of help, he does all he can to help. He turns the group into one big happy family.
The second wonder is the Colosseum in Rome. Prakruti eventually falls in love with Vishwa, and tells him that she is in love with him. She says she had an inferiority complex, because her sister, Sahana, who is younger than her, is a very bold personality, whereas she, Prakruti is very reserved. Everyone used to praise Sahana, and this had a negative effect on Prakruti.
The third wonder is Petra, in Jordan, the ?cut-out? temples ? caves in the rocks. This is followed by shopping. Then Gopal Gowda has chest pains. Vishwa gets a Doctor, who says that it is nothing serious, but that he must rest for two days. The rest of the group say that they would not enjoy going on the tour, when he is ill, and they will stay until he is well enough to travel.
Prakruti?s parents (Edakallu Chandru, Chitra Shenoy) had a hidden motive for coming on the tour. They had decided to get her married to a Dubai based businessman?s son, as a reciprocation for a favour, as he lent them money, when they had a big loss in business. It seems that Kamala, the sister of Prakruti?s father, and Prakruti were very close. Kamala lived in their outhouse after she got married. But her husband was a heavy drinker, and used to fight with her for money ? and eventually Kamala committed suicide. Prakruti saw all this as she grew up, and decided she would never marry. They ask Vishwa to convince Prakruti to marry the son of their friend ? so he feels he is under an obligation to them, and at the same time he is deeply in love with Prakruti, who tells him that she cannot live without him. Vishwa says, ?One must be fortunate to have woman, gold, earth.?
What happens from then forms the rest of the story.

Review:

This is basically a typical Indian love story. A girl does not want to get married because her parents had an unhappy marriage. Her parents have arranged a marriage for her ? then she falls in love. The parents enlist the help of the man she has fallen in love with (and who has also fallen in love with her) to persuade her to accept the groom they have chosen. The difference here is the novel way the story is told, and the background to the story. This is what lifts the film from an ordinary love story to an extraordinary story, and makes it a film very well worth watching. The background to the story is a tour of the Seven Wonders of The World, which never actually gets completed, because of something much more important ? LOVE! After some initial enmity against the tour guide, the girl eventually falls in love with him, and he with her. The other travellers, when they realise what is happening, they decide that they would rather try to encourage the love story than continue with the tour.

Song 1 - Janumana kotta, shows what a lovely character Vishwa (Shivaraj Kumar), the hero is, as he helps young children to cross the road, and sings that everyone should be thankful for all that they have in life, grateful to God, their parents, elders, teachers and everyone who helps them ? and also to the world itself. In song 2 ? Sing, sing a song (Hamsa Hamsa Hamsalekha), he sings in the bus to try to cheer up Prakruti (Sonal Chauhan), who is in an unhappy mood. In Song 3 ? Olave ninne nodalu, on 1st November, Rajyotsava, he helps them celebrate Kannada Day. In song 4 ? O Priyathamma, Prakruti sings to Vishwa of her love for him. In the title song, Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu they sing of their love for each other against the background of six of the Seven Wonders. Then there is the wedding song ? Seere nerige sari (Will you adjust my Sari?). But who is she going to marry, the groom chosen by her parents, or the man she loves?

This is a superb film!
