Plot
Shekhar (Arvind Swamy), a journalism student, falls in love with Shaila Bano (Manisha Koirala), a Muslim schoolgirl, in their coastal village. Faced with vehement opposition from their orthodox fathers due to religious differences, they move to Bombay and get married. For six years, they live a happy life and raise twin boys, Kamal and Kabir. However, their world turns upside down when the Babri Masjid demolition triggers the 1992-93 Bombay riots. The film portrays the family's desperate struggle to survive the violence, locate their missing children, and the eventual reconciliation of their families amidst the chaos.
