Aparichita (Stranger) is a film I have seen at least 25 years ago. Today when I bought the CD, it was equally amazing. Since the suspense was known, it did not thrill me. But the realistic characters in the film are very much appreciable. Totally shot in rural India, it has the flavour of the native Indian culture. Sometimes, I feel, a film like this is more useful to comment whether it is really good or really bad, because, we tend to look at the film as a story and how realistic the folk is. On the contrary, if we have a film with superstars like Rajkumar or Vishnuvardhan, our outlook will be only to concentrate on those roles and even sometimes the acting is idiotic, we tend to forget them because of our love and appreciation for the artists. In this way, although I know only three of the artists in Aparichita, Suresh Heblikar, Srilalitha (if I remember correctly) and Vasudeva Rao, I really do not know others, that's the reason I can concentrate on their talence. The film is worth watching.
