-------

Actor-Director Ramesh Arvind comes out as a winner in his third directorial venture Accident, an action thriller. The multi talented personality has done a splendid job to make a film that fully engages the audience for more than two hours. And each sequence has the stamp of a brilliant presentation. Ramesh shows his competence in working out a perfect script for the thriller which keeps you on the edge of your seat most of the time during the film.

Ramesh Arvind has excelled in both the departments as an actor and a director in this film which is quite different from the best of the thrillers which have been seen in the industry. Even the ambience is stylish and contemporary. The film may be urban, but the narration is rocking which could be easily understood by all segments of audience.

The rapid pace and a slick editing has made the film a competent product which is really enjoyable. The suspense has been well maintained till the last minute. There are some minor mistakes in the film which could have been really avoided. It is surprising how an intelligent actor and director like Ramesh has allowed such lapses in the film which has more space for good elements.

See for example how haphazardly the situation of the death of an IAS officer by the Minister and his henchman has been handled in the film. The aftermath of the death has been completely ignored in the script which should be a matter of surprise. And Ramesh who has taken care to select a perfect star cast has done a big mistake in selecting his own writer Rajendra Karanth in the role of the Minister. Surprisingly Karanth who is an experienced artist and writer in theatre utterly fails to match the requirements of the role. He not only overacts, but spoils the suaveness of the film.

Other than these omissions, Ramesh has done a good job by selecting new artists who do not have any image traps. And these fresh faces have acted competently in their roles.

The story revolves around young Sawanth, a Radio Jockey and his loving wife Vasudhara who have achieved a comfortable degree of success in their own fields. And both of them have a couple of friends with whom they enjoy partying and have lot of fun. Vasundhara is an activist who takes up causes and fights for them in pursuit of justice. Sawanth goes abroad for a training and while he comes back there is a tragic development in which his wife dies in mysterious circumstances along with her accomplice.

Sawant is utterly shocked and is unable to come to terms with this tragic turn of events. But later he comes out of this shock and is determined to find out the facts relating to the death of his wife. During his investigation, Sawanth finds out that his wife has been murdered along with another accomplice who was like a brother to him. Sawanth tries to secure the help of the police also in his investigative work. But all the persons who have a link to his wife's murder are brutally killed or die in mysterious circumstances. Finally Sawanth breaks the ice and finds out the real culprits behind the tragic murder of his wife.

Ramesh once again comes out with a refined performance in the film and shows his talents in many sequences. There are some sequences in which he has really excelled. His performance is really in peak levels in the scene when he goes to the Mortuary to see the dead body of his wife. He is equally brilliant in another scene where he breaks into tears while describing his love towards his wife with his friend Pooja Gandhi. Rekha has done a good job in this film and acts with ease. Pooja Gandhi shows lot of bubbliness in her role and carries off well even in serious sequences. All the artists have done a good job.

Ricky Kej's music is another major attraction of the film. Kunal Ganjawala's Baa Maleye Baa is the pick of the lot. Ricky's background score perfectly suits the mood of the film. Veteran cinematographer.
